Virtual memory allows the Operating System to use hard disk?drive space to supplement the physical RAM memory when the Operating System memory requirements exceed the available physical RAM memory. A virtual memory error can occur if there is not sufficient memory on the computer and when the current virtual memory setting is not set high enough. Below are the steps to increase your virtual memory.

Click Start and then click Control Panel.
- Double-Click on System.
Note: If you do not see the System icon, click Classic View in the upper left hand corner.

Under Tasks click Advanced systems settings.

On the Systems Properties window, click the Advanced tab.

On the Advanced tab under Performance click the Settings button.

Under Performance Options click the Advanced tab and then click the Change button under Virtual memory.
- Place a check mark next to Automatically manage paging file size for all drives by clicking inside the box.

Click OK to close the Virtual Memory window

Click OK to close the Performance Options window

Click OK?to close?the System Properties window
